Or the original Nick Reboot I might say. *sad face*
Around this time last year it was announced that Viacom had taken legal action against the operators of the classic Nickelodeon streaming site, Nick Reboot, forcing it to be shutdown immediately. But before the website was completely down for good, the operator(s) left this message to the fans and frequent viewers to give them some sort of closure.
Nick Reboot offered 24/7 streaming of classic Nick shows, including NickToons such as Rocko’s Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Pelswick, As Told By Ginger, Rugrats & more. And if you donated $1.00 you could access custom Nickelodeon emojis and use them in the site’s chat room. But what stood out most about site was that they offered a premium on-demand subscription on Roku for about $35.99 a year. The site overall was a big jackpot to those who grew up watching Nickelodeon in the 90’s and/or early 2000’s. And although Teen Nick was running a block formerly called The 90’s Are All That that streamed classic Nick shows at the time, it didn’t meet up to it’s standards. There wasn’t much variety to the lineup. If you ask me, Viacom eliminated their competition. LEGAL STYLE. *blows smoke from gun*
Coincidentally, eight months after Nick Reboot’s takedown, TeenNick’s re-branded & renamed their 90’s block completely, and it is now known as The Splat. You can read my full review of the block here. The classic Nick block now provides many more shows to its lineup & streams them all night long from 10:00pm to 6:00am., prior to it originally lasting only two hours from midnight to 2:00am. I guess the real lesson was learned by Viacom for keeping their classic Nick lovers deprived from a variety of their shows for so long. Farewell original Nick Reboot. It was fun while it lasted!
