“The Splat” TeenNick’s Fresh New 90’s Block REVIEWED

It’s been exactly a month since TeenNick brought out a fresh new block, showing a lineup of their popular shows from the 90’s. The Splat is an upgraded version of their previous 90’s block “The 90’s Are All That” adding more varieties of shows every night to it’s lineup. The lineup now includes some classic NickToons such as Aaahh Real Monsters, The Wild Thornberrys, All Grown Up, & one of my personal faves, As Told By Ginger.

tumblr_nw8eylalbD1uj6aqko1_500I truly appreciate Nickelodeon and Viacom’s attempt to expand and improve their 90’s block, but deep down inside I wish the channel rumors were true. Since Viacom’s take down of the online streaming website NickReboot.com in March, which resulted in the owner receiving a lawsuit, there have been numerous rumors of the creation of a separate channel of only classic Nick shows. So when I heard “The Splat is Coming” I thought, THIS IS IT. THE HOLY GRAIL HAS FINALLY COME. So yeah kinda disappointing, but I’m not complaining about The Splat’s lineup at all. An eight hour block from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. 7 days a week with more nostalgic shows added, sign me the hell up. At least that’s one step closer to an entire channel. But the general public of social media may have mixed feelings about The Splat, let’s take a look:

Here we have those who are all for it

Mad clutch indeed. Now here are some of those who reek of disappointment right now

And one last tweet I would like to share that really made me cackle.

I rate The Splat: 4/5 stars! ★★★★ It would’ve got that 5th star if it was an entire channel. Just sayin’.
